Citroen DS3 1.6hdi engine fault code P2562
Hello all, I have a 2013 1.6hdi DS3 which I use every day as a driving instructor. It came up with an engine management fault yesterday and I used one of the cheap generic fault code readers to identify the fault. (I do have the Lexia program installed on my laptop but now it refuses to open due to an "internal fault")
The code reader says P2562 Turbocharger boost / Control position / Sensor A Circuit. When I search this code on youtube, I find results for a Turbo Actuator Position Sensor Solenoid, which shows how to remove a round plastic cover from a plastic unit which has rubber hoses going to it. You then clean a small foam filter inside, which may have become oiled. I can't even find this unit on my engine.
My garage friend pointed me towards a unit just below the turbo intake pipe, which he thought was the faulty part. I have attached two photos (if I can manage it): one shows the end looking towards the middle of the engine (Turbo inlet tube above) with the socket where the wires connects and the other shows the other side showing the control rod coming out of the unit, which presumably controls the turbo. I'm not sure what part I am looking at here and if it it is the one responsible for the fault. Can anyone shed light on this for me please, and hopefully an appropriate remedy?
Thanks in anticipation.

I'll need your VIN for the correct code details as per your engine as there are 4 or 5 versions of this engine fitted to the DS3

Re: Citroen DS3 1.6hdi engine fault code P2562
The VIN is normally visible through a small window in the black surround of the windscreen (normally bottom left), and it is also on the V5 logbook.
The VIN is, effectively, the serial number of the car. People with the right access can then look up exactly what the vehicle had when she rolled out of the factory. For security reasons the VIN will be obscured so that only Forum Moderators can read it.

You can post the VIN on the forum. It will be obscured so only Moderators can read it. I am NOT a Moderator. I believe that, if you PM it, the VIN will be obscured in the PM so NOBODY can read it.

Re: Citroen DS3 1.6hdi engine fault code P2562
Right, as I suspected, you had neither of those, you actually have a DV6DTED engine.
So here is the description of the fault for this code as it relates to your engine ECU:
So you'll need a Lexia with Diagbox in order to get some live data to see what's happening, but this should give you some pointers.

Hi there. Any luck resolving. My same engine reports this code once every two months and then clears itself. Any help would be appreciated. Jack
