Would it be possible to make a photo selected for an avatar to automatically resize to the correct size. I have tried on numerous occasions to set an avatar and failed because I have no idea how to resize photos on the phone/tablet.

There is another way to do this...

If you go to http://en.gravatar.com and sign up, they will host your avatar(s), and you can upload pictures at any size, and after selecting th Gravatar option in your User Control Panel, this forum will pick up the correctly sized avatar for display.
