Private Message Problem

I received a private message from another forum member and have tried replying to it and also sending a PM directly, however the messages stay in my 'Out Box' and don't move to 'Sent Items'.
As I've not had a response to the messages I've sent, I'm wondering if they haven't actually been sent, hence why they are still in my 'Out Box'

They will remain in your outbox until the recipient reads the message, and then it goes into your sent box.
