CX PALLAS
Hi . . . Just got to wondering how many CX PALLAS there are in uk today ? Also . . . I seem to remember a brochure for them. I think it featured a Gold Metallic one with Black Vinyl roof and a very plush gold velour interior, With deep buttoned seats, Lovely Head rests and Foot rests. It had a longer wheelbase and body, and a modern 'for the time' brushed aluminium panel on the B or C post. And solid, polished disc wheel covers I think it may have been photographed at The Palace of Versailles ?

Re: CX PALLAS
Not sure how many but you can check 'howmanyleft.com' but I know of one Pallas, my 1982 CX 20 Pallas in gold. Presently for sale:

The Pallas version was really the mid range CX with better trim and a few extras but the GTi and Prestige were the range toppers. I think the one you're describing is actually the CX Prestige as that has extended wheel base and rear foor rests.

Re: CX PALLAS
Hello Graeme M, Glasgow. Many Thanks for your reply and link to Photos etc. Very nice of you. Oh yes . . . Of course, Prestige . . How did I forget That !
I think it might be because I think of Pallas as top luxury. I think the DS23 Pallas was the top spec of the day wasn't it ? Your CX looks very nice and as you say, unusual spec. I was surprised to see that it's Manual. (I am a fan of both Manual and Auto) Wish I could buy it, but got too much on already ! Lol.
Did the Prestige have something different about it's rear Roof line, A bit taller perhaps. And did they all have an Everflex Vinyl covering. Was this too help conceal some roof surgery, in the same way as XJ Coupes were shortened ? Did you see my question re the original CX rolling drum instruments ? I really liked those and was sad when they went. Citroens had so many unique and ground breaking features, Esp CX and SM, and DS of course, particularly for a mass production car. It's good to see them getting to be more extreme and individual again, though most modern cars just don't seem to grab me in the same way !

Re: CX PALLAS
Yes, i'm the same - not grabbed by anything Citroen produce at all. If the original C4 had been available with Hydractive 3 then maybe.
The CX Prestige certainly does have a raised roof. However the very first Prestiges (1976) had a low roof like the standard saloon and are therefore, very rare. I'm not certain about the vinyl covers though - many Prestiges did have them but I'm not certain that they all did - I've seen many without it. I'm not at all keen on vinyl roofs!
