Megan petrol imobiliser problem

Hi friend has a megan convertible 07ish i think? unlocks car ok but key in ignition the red light just keeps flashing fast does it on both keys nothings been changed.
Could be be reader bit where key slots in or? Had jack and all his mates yes we can do it but can you erm! well i'm sure you know the types!
Put him on to a good auto leccy but thought i'd ask mean while.

someone did say crank sensor changed that but not that he don't want to scrap it as only got 40 thou on clock his wifes car.

It could be the reader. Key card not engaging maybe as plastic inside them can break. Should be able to get another reader to try from a scrapper.
I take it he has a good fully charged battery?

Hi it's a 99 model yes battery is charged just seems to gone senile?

The 99 model is a bit different from an 07. The latter has key card entry so my previous answer is not applicable.

Forgot sorted! That particular year/'s in the cabriolet the immobiliser loses it's code digit and has to be reset 1 to 0 or something like that

Well it's gone to scrap heaven now as code went again.
