hi,
I bought a renault scenic 04 plate 1.4....bit of a pile of rubbish to be honest.the passenger window doesn't work and so i did some investigation work,I found a piece of wood holding up the window, which had worked loose so the window dropped open slightly, which was why I had a look.....Anyway, on the window regulator mechanism, there are two clips, both of which are broken....can I buy these clips as opposed to buying the whole regulator unit? and what then is the procedure of putting it back in? It must have to be connected to the window but I'm not sure how...any help would be very much appreciated.
If the clips can be bought via ebay, can anyone find a link as to what I need to buy? I found a few on sale there but am not completely sure which I need to buy? thanks....also,on another note, I have a warning saying "check parking brake" well,a couple of weeks ago,my battery died so I had to replace it,before this happened, the parking brake stuck on, I used the emergency release cable in the boot and bumped the car off,it started ok,and hey presto, the parking brake message had vanished......next morning, car was flat again,so I replaced the battery, starts ok now but the check parking brake warning is back again?? really annoying as I know now it's an mot failure?? any ideas on clearing that?? cheers......

Re: scenic window regulator
If you have to operate the emergency cable and the warning light shows, you may need to clear that light with diagnostics ( CLIP).
Even at that, there could still be a fault on the handbrake or footbrake /clutch switches.
Those Scenic are a little pig of a motor without knowledge and a CLIP. Even then..........still little pigs

What Lexi said.
Renaults really need Clip, a wise investment if you're determined to make life fun for yourself by owning a Renault.
The handbrakes are a well know trouble spot, are the return springs in place on the calipers?
Steve.
