Strange warning lights Clio Mk1
Been having some issues with my wife's Clio Mk1 1.4. For the last few weeks have had strange dash warning lights. When the engine is warm the oil (pressure) light, the oil level light & the too hot temperature light have been coming on at idle, sometimes flickering & sometimes on. They go out when the engine is revved. The alternator belt has been squealing for a while & also while carefully driving through a bit of flood a 4x4 going the other other way at stupid MPH swamped the little Clio. Not sure if either could have a bearing. Anyway today I changed the alternator belt (what a pig of a job as the alternator is between the engine & the bulkhead) & did various other things, oil filter etc. Anyway the lights are still coming on. Could it be corrosion on a connection or sensor somewhere from the soaking? If not what could it be?

Re: Strange warning lights Clio Mk1
Hi.
I can't be sure about a Clio but if it's anything like the Scenic electrically then the chances are one of the 'computers' has got wet. On the Scenic the prime candidate would be the UPC that lives under the bonnet next to the battery. I think you'll need to start going through the under bonnet 'computers' and connectors opening them up then using some water displacing spray. If that doesn't work it's a CLiP session.
Good luck.
Steve.
