1998 Megane 1.4 petrol

Hi, can anyone please tell me if my car would have a catallyc convertor in the exhaust system as a piece of fibreglass wadding appeared out of the tailpipe and the exhaust note has changed and I'm not sure what needs replacing, Many thanks for any advice.

Yes it will have a catalytic converter. The wadding won't be that though, it'll be the rear silencer box that's falling apart inside. If the noise isn't bothering you, it'll be ok to leave it.

Many thanks Northern Mike, the noise is not too bad at all just a deeper note so I'll leave it for now, glad to hear its not the catalytic converter and thanks for the spelling lesson, I thought it didn't look right
