Multipul electric issues help please
Hi I have a 2006 1.5dci megane tourer 92k , after getting my car back from a new turbo fitted the garage told me I needed a new number plate light bulb ,they were going to do it but didn't have one, anyway I got one today and fitted it but it didn't light up,i also found that my hi level brake light wasn't working either , what I have found is when I wiggle the rubber elbow at the top left hinge tailgate I get a loud clicking noise which I traced back to the tailgate opening switch (button), it s a very loud de dum de dum sorry only way I can describe it , my heated rear screen and AC have not worked for a while either but lights on dash fine ,it had a upgrade wiring kit from Renault last year as I believe their was a recall on this , any help on if the clicking noise when wiggled could be cause of these issues ,I know its not good but I was hoping someone may have had a similar problem , any help would be appreciated .Thanks

Re: Multipul electric issues help please
I believe I have found the problem, upon inspecting the rubber elbow at the top left of the tailgate hinge I have found at least ,what I can see is 5 broken wires , One white(large) 2 brown , one blue and one black ,OK so it appears that this is were my issue's with rear number plate light, Heated screen and high level light come from,i can see the breaks but I don't have the equipment to do the job ,and it doesn't look like their is much spare wire ,as anyone come across this were so many wires have broken and how they went about fixing so many,or how long and cost it would take a decent auto electrician to do the job,and if anyone knows of one in this postcode OL12 .Thanks

Hi Dennis, well if there is enough space for a little bit of extra wire then just cut them short and attach them with little cables, be careful to insulate them properly though or you might have short circuits and nasty stuff. Or you could use some connectors: they look like a small metal pipe covered with plastic (can't remember the name now sorry), you peel the cables, insert them into those little pipes and then flatten the pipe. It will keep the cables together and it works even if you don't have spare wire.
