Renault Laugna 3 - A Couple of Quesions

Hi Guys,

I bought a 2008 Renault Laguna 3 Expression 2.0 Dci 130 about 3 weeks ago and love it! Having done a 250 mile road trip last weekend my faith in Renault has been restored and I am really happy with the car as it is everything I wanted. But I have a few questions about it which I cannot find answers too and I hope someone can help me here:

1) The car has the Carminat Satnav/Bluetooth system - which whilst a lot on the internet seem to hate, I kinda like actually. One question on it which I cannot see in the manual and my nephew asked me on Saturday. On the satnav you have the arrow for the car, and around the top is a while circle. What does the circle represent? The manual shows it but I cannot see what it is there for. Any ideas?


2) On the audio side my only real issue is that I can only play MP3 cd's as there is no Aux or USB connector (and my Phone being a Samsung Galaxy doesn't connect correctly on Bluetooth and cannot download the phone book let alone stream audio via Bluetooth thanks to Renault not liking it (Thankfully it does allow me to make and receive calls tho)).

In my two old cars - a 2002 Citroen C5 exclusive and a 2004 Nissan Primera SE 2.2DCI, I fitted the XCarLink device which connects into the factory fitted audio system and acts as a CD Multi-changer allowing MP3 playback through the on board audio and also allows use of all the steering wheel controls etc. Looking at their website this is available for a Laguna 2 but not the Laguna 3. I noticed some Renaults seem to come with a USB port but sadly not mine. Are there any options for fitting a USB port to the car so I can plug in a USB key with more music rather than having to keep swapping the CD every time I want a different style of music?

Otherwise I am really happy with the car and look forward to enjoying to more over the coming years.

I'm glad your loving your Laguna 3 , I'm a huge fan myself and can't really fault mine either . I'm afraid I can't help on either issue but if you try the Laguna section on the Renault forum I'm pretty sure you'll find your answers there . Mines a 2008 Dynamique S and that doesn't have a USB either , I was looking at changing the head unit to one that has USB/Bluetooth and also keeping the stalk controls too as Halfords have some fantastic deals on at the minute . http://www.renaultforums.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=105" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
