I have a 2005 Laguna 1.9 dci with 53k on the clock, and according to its fuel computer is doing 29-31 mpg which is pretty crap. I have had the car about a week and the first thing i did was clean the EGR, unless its knackered. The other issue id that for no reason 'Check Injector' flashes up, the car looses power, then goes back to normal a few mins later, I did read am article that mentioned the Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor, but Im not sure if my car even has one. I dont know if the 2 things are related but would appreciate any opinions guys
Cheers

You need to put your car on a diagnostic machine to give yourself a chance of repair.

Re: Laguna dci really bad mpg+'Check Injector' fault
i had an issue with the pressure sensor and that did cause it to go into "limp home mode" where you have no power etc but tbh the fuel consumption didnt change that i noticed. the sensor on mine had the little plastic pipe that feeds it had a slight crack in it and so under pressure it opened and lost pressure. if you are getting a 'Check Injector' fault then i would suggest you follow that lead and ensure they are all on top form. without plugging it in as lighty said i would take the injectors out one by one and make sure they are visually consistent and not one dry one sutted up one wet etc etc check the boady of the injector for black sutty marks to suggest the injector is not sealed properly and loosing compression.
i would check this out as if you are loosing compression or one injector is clogged then this would cause the loss of power possibly cause smoking and increased fuel consumption, also the engine might sound different or loud like a popping noise when the compression is lost. i would try and get it plugged in but if not im affraid it sounds like some old school mechanics get in and have a listen. let us know how you get on

Get it on a Renault Clip, check the codes and parameters otherwise you could be chasing this for a long time.
