Laguna 2 1.8 petrol estate wont start
Hi all, over the past month or so i have found on occasions the Laguna will not start. When the the starter button is pressed NOTHING happens. The starter motors does not turn and when I put a metre on the battery whilst the starter button is pressed there is no draw on the battery or dip in volts> This first happened about 6 weeks ago but after a short while it did start, but today after many attempts over a few hours NOTHING!! Could someone please help.............as also today our C5's immobiliser kicked in so thats stopped working too (I have posted that problem on the Citroen forum pages!!

Whack the starter with a 2x4 while pushing the start button - you may need long arms or an assistant to do this.
Temporary fix if it does happen to work.

Thanks for your reply! I will ask my wife to push the starter button rather than growing longer arms!! Do you have any idea what is causing the problem?

Sticking solenoid if there is no click from the starter, worn/sticking brushes in the motor if the solenoid clicks.
Failing that it will be the cables or terminals that have broken or corroded.

Does the ignition turn on and display all the dash lights as normal when the card is inserted?
French is best.
