Hi All,
I have a quandary. I've got to choose between my CX (a DTR T2) and my C6 (2.2 Exclusive). I don't drive that much and really what I need is a smaller car for round town (choosing that is a nightmare too), but I want to keep one of my two cars with proper suspension...
Head says C6, chiefly because the big car will be for long holiday journeys where a dry boot! and quiet surroundings make sense, however the CX has way more magic, ironically is more efficient and just makes me smile in a way that the C6 can't.
Any thoughts gratefully received (particularly suggestions for the bloody sunroof leak into the boot)
Cheers,
OLIx

C6 without a shadow of a doubt, its will be your only big car and will take on long journeys with ease and comfort with good economy, and you will arrive dry and not smelling of wet car.

Re: CX or C6!
Sounds like the C6 to me. CXs aren't being used by many people nowadays as daily drivers as they are getting older - 22 years old for the very newest Series 2 cars, and 27 for the Series 1 cars...
All depends on preference, however CXs aren't usually used at daily drivers any more...

Re: CX or C6!
You've answered your own question really
= Cx - because living is all about having that smile on your face and actually enjoying the Cx!
You qualify this choice further by the lower mileage you travel so there's hardly a significant
'exposure to risk' running the older car either...
OK. Put another way:
IF you'd just heard one of the x2 had just been stolen which would you dread hearing had gone the most?
And how easy would it be to find a replacement??

Re: CX or C6!
Depending on how much you woud need to use the larger car, I would say without doubt keep the CX. It is the more different and interesting car, possibly the one which makes a journey more special and enjoyable too. If its a good and well looked after CX there is no reason why it can't take long holiday runs with ease.
As for small cars, if its a Fiat 500 make sure its not a diesel - they are not supposed to be used as town cars!

Ha, you think you have a choice?
It's not up to you.
The one which wants to stay most will let you know.
I had a similar quandry with my CX or my german C5. Every time I try to sell the CX it foils my attempt.
First try it lulled the car valet staff into spraying thinners down the drivers side to dissolve the lacquer. At my second attempt it slashed its return lines on the way and spilled green blood over the tarmac. Number three, this morning it tried to take its own life by jumping off a two post lift.
It's like something out of Fawlty Towers.
Go on, put your CX up for sale and see what happens!..............

Personally I'd keep the CX somewhere nice and dry, sort out the sunroof, lavish care and attention on it and get something smaller for everyday use. Kept in good order, the CX will be fine for family holidays etc, and they aren't that complicated when all said and done. I suspect the CX will be looked on in years to come with far more affection than the C6 - it's value is likely to rise, not plummet like a stone for a start.
That's just my two-penneth with a healthy dose of cheeky git thrown in at the start..
