Very nice, im not sure how many there are in the UK however there must be a good few. Is there not some kind of owners forum or club?

I go to France most years and have seen less and less original Twingos each time. It does pay to speak some French when going to the scrappies, also a lot of them now will get the bits for you without letting you in to wander and take what you need.

That might be an idea

Oh, and welcome to the FCF :D

Did you import it yourself?

The best Twingos are the very early ones like yours, they look the most funky!

I think this is the Twingo I nearly bought myself!

It was on Car and Classic for £395 or something when I was in England back in May. The guy also had a few other Renaults including an Avantime. I remember speaking to him and he said it was smoky due to overfuelling or something?

I never got time to make the 100 mile round trip and ended up coming home in a Citroen C5 V6 instead. I would love to have bought it, though, it's such a cool little car :D
French is best.

Hi yes the early ones are the best, I didn't import it, it was the one on car and classic :)

It's had a lot of money spent on it, the overfuelling was a number of things, I've also replaced the spi the ecu and I'm currently rebuilding the top end of the engine

It's had all the brakes overhauled and little things like mirrors rubbers badges replaced full major service etc etc etc

Just could do with the dent doctor and a respray! But that's a bit off yet

I hired a Twingo just like yours, same colour + sunroof a few years ago when on holiday in Ibiza, as I recall it was quite pleasant to drive, good luck getting it all together. If when you get it running you have problems with it maintaining a stable idling speed where it keeps idling too quickly Renault sell a modification called a "Case interface" which fits between the single fuel injector and its electrical connector. My wife's Clio had this problem and I spent many hours trying to fix it until on that same holiday in Ibiza I started chatting to a bloke who was the Service Manager of a Renault dealer. Needless to say I would never have sorted out had I not met him.

Thank you very much for that advice it really helps :)

Mine is a launch model so its quite a unique one, I need a new wing but twingos in this colour seem fairly rare now :(

Also the series 1 twingo like mine seem to be becoming scarce now
