Scenic II, Fuel Accuracy

Unread post by wrinklet1 »

Hi, Can anyone tell me how accurate the digital mpg display is on my Scenic II, 1.5 diesel. I hope it is spot on, but doubt it. It says I am doing 46mpg round town and 68mpg on the motorway at a steady speed. Could this be right

Doesn't sound too far away to me your figures , my wife's Laguna II 1.9dci is returning 46/48mpg back and forward to work which we are very happy with

Our 1.9DCi Scenic II would do about 50MPG on a good run, 45ish on day to day duties.

I'm not confident about the accuracy of those digital displays, Mine on a Citroen C5 1.6 Hdi displays 64 MPG.in reality & in practice, filling the tank each time the return is 54 MPG. I have wondered if those digital displays can be adjusted.

Often they are innacurate but they can be very accurae, seems to depend on the car. I always do a check on each tank with the fill up method. My current C5 is as close as makes no difference to the actual MPG.

these trip meters will all differ from one car to the next, on a long journey you have to consider what weight you mite be carrying, are the tyers ok , roof racks will drasticly increase fuel consumption, even atmospheric conditions will change fuel consumption, so one car on one day may do 60mpg and on another 50mpg, plus it all depends on the driver,
