Help with spring connection

As I mentioned in a previous thread in the Peugeot forum I am changing the condenser in my 306.

I have got everything off exept the last connection on the condenser which is some sort of spring connection which I can't work out how to remove.

Please could anyone give advice as I have got the car apart and want to get it back together asap but I need to change the condenser first.
