Laguna 1 Cruise Control question

Where is the Cruise Control ECU located in a Laguna mark 1?

The Haynes manual says under the front passenger seat, but in the V6 24v donor vehicle, there is nothing there at all - not even a cover. Further, when I contacted my local Renault spares place, their system indicates that, for this '97 V6 24v, it's near the fuses & relays (e.g. above the driver's shins).

The other information which may be very useful is the colour of the Control ECU connector wires.
