05 Megane Scenic rear window stuck in down position

In addition to information posted by StiffyBrian ( Sun Nov 2008 ) I would like to add this as a temporary security repair for windows that have locked in the down position on an 05 Megane scenic, this may apply to Scenic and Laguna models as well ( worth a try ! )
I removed the door panel ( not too difficult but requires quite a lot of effort ) :- unplug the drive motor - shut the door - lock the car with a double hit on the key fob - ( this would normally close the windows as well ) - unlock the car - open the door - and replace the plug into the motor - shut the door - then lock again using the double hit on the key fob - the window will go up approx 2 inches --- keep repeating this sequence until the window is closed, then remove the plug from the motor until a proper repair can be effected. This sounds a bit strange but I can assure you it worked for me.

On my Laguna the petrol flap lock does this, the motor doesn't operate fully but if I keep locking and unlocking it moves the bar out a bit at a time, so maybe if you just keep locking and unlocking the window will do the same without the rest of the work?
