Unfortunately there are lots af ways water can get into your car.
Any particular sweet smell - as from coolant fluid - telling you a tale ?
If any fitted aircondition condensing outlet is blocked, it will usually dump it inside the cabin from near the heater matrix area.
Roof center antenna mounting foot is likewise a known source of water.
Rear hatch doors are a pain on many recent cars letting in water from behind because of missing sealing or gaps in the sealing.
Sidedoors can do this too, if the drains on the door bottoms are clogged.
Check if the sidedoors lines up perfectly with the chassisbody when fully closed. Hose down the doors with a garden hose while you check from inside.

thanks anders
yes ill check that all out thank you,
well ive just been reading a forum and apparently this is a common fault on the scenic its the drainage pipe that comes from the sunroof to the bottom of the front wheelarch and this becomes blocked thus allowing water to flow back into the car filling up the front sills then getting into the floorpan and the underfloor comparments with water. apparently you just undo the 2 bottom screws on the back of the front wheelarch liner just behind the front wheels pull this away slightly and theres the drain tube and this usually gets bunged up with mud.
so tomorrow ill check this out and ill let you know my findings.
