software re-write!

Hi all,new to fcf and first time ive owned a french chariot!always wasted money on german toys.no need.
hope u can help me,my wifes megane 1500dci 106bhp 56plate recently went to our main dealer for a software re-write to the eng/ac ecu but nobody in house could really describe why,or,what problems they have been having that instigated the re-write?? any ideas out there,thanks.

Its common that car makers have to upgrade software to correct for any minor issues reported back from customers and dealers. Even safety issues could be involved in such software updates.

Car owners with all kinds of different needs of driving - from all corners of the world - are the best testdrivers that exists.

Unless the car is still under warranty, you will be charged garage labour for this update, as nothing in this world is for free
