Upside down Trafic

Unread post by horrid1 »

8) G'Day from NZ
I have just purchased a 1986 Trafic Movan.( 2 litre diesel). These Trafics were not imported to NZ by the dealers and there is no support readily available for the owners.

They don't even have parts lists!!
I am in need of a workshop manual and any info available.

I would also like to know if any parts are interchangeable with other Renault models,

There does not appear to be much on the web about these Trafics, any leads there would also be welcome!

If you can help, please e'mail me, and we can sort out a method of payment,
Thanks, Ernie. :?

Nothing on theweb about the Reno traffic !!!. Your not wrong. Try one of those on line breakers or scrap men. You could try Reno direct in France. Ping them an E-mail about the manual.
The wifes got a C4 I've got a ZX TD SX!!!!

Hi horrid 1

Although this is only a brochure, and not a manual, it might have information including technical details that might be of use to you.

Hi, do you mean the 2.1l diesel (2068cc)?
I've got a 1986 converted minibus. It's the same engine that's in the Renault 25.
The Haynes manual (don't listen to all the Haynes knockers (especially Citroen owners) -I've always found them very useful) 1228 Renault 25 1984-1992 is what I've used to rebuild the engine, but if you do get one, make sure it includes the diesel (evidently some don't).
It's pretty good for most of the other components- brakes, clutch, gearbox, drive-shafts.
Also, the Haynes manual for the Renault 18 is useful for the old petrol Trafics.

trafic diesel

Unread post by horrid1 »

:) Hi there, dotcommer .,

Thanks for that lead, I will get hold of a Haynes, I have several already covering my Citroens and find them quite helpful.

My Trafic is a motorhome, 1986, 2068cc diesel, and I am surprised at the weight that is carried on the rear axle!

I have just overhauled the brakes and find the rear bearings are quite small taper rollers, so I shall be ordering a spare set in case of collapse!!

The chassis is also a very light material so I will have to keep a close watch for rust.

Off now to find a manual,
Thank you, Ernie :D
