Scenic heater problems
Can anyone help with two problems i have with the heating system in my 98 1.9DTi 1 the heater blower has stopped working all it does is produce a burning smell 2 the blower vent is stuck on the demist position, the selector control moves but feels like it wants to spring back to the demist position Is there a relatively easy way to fix these problems or do i have to take the car half apart?

Half apart I'm afraid, sounds like the cable for moving the vents is broken or caught on something, that'd be why it's springing back.
The burning smell is usually the 1st sign the controller is about to conk out :S, happens far too often. New controls is usually the answer, try your renault dealer to see if he'll do it as a good measure (doesn't cost them a lot) or try scrappers before u buy a brand new 1, scrappers will be around 40 quid or so to give you a clue how much it'd cost from a dealer.
