renault 19 fuel reserve

Unread post by wonderd »

I have a 1992 renault 19 1.7L manual gear.
Does anyone know how much 'reserve' fuel i have from the minute the red light turns on??
I know that in some french cars it's 5 liters...

I prefer to look at just how far you will get in this situation rather than how many litres of fuel you have but about 5 is the norm, you should never let it get that low because you will drag all the silt/muck from the tank then you will have problems.

I know it's not very good for the car to dive on that reserve, but sometimes it happenes that you have to use every last drop of fuel..
so i just wanted to know how much spare i have in case i need to use it.[8D]

well lets say approx 60 miles then, generally its a get you there type of thing and the norm in the UK is 1.5 to 2.0 gallons engine size dependant.
