Oh how it gladdens my heart to know our rolls were reversed for once!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
'Squark' the farm cat ignoring 'Hades' the Ko Shamo cockerel. There's a mutual respect between the two. Hades will attack anyone who shows the slightest uncertainty in their approach. More than once have I had to dunk him in a bucket of water. He usually takes that as a caution to stay away.
Wild flowers are one of the best things you can keep in a garden. No maintenance really, insects love them, you can plant them in tubs to be put out when they look good. I have two roof gardens on top of pergolas in my back garden. One has sedums, alpines, thymes and other similar plants. The other has heathers, wild flowers with space for changeable troughs with seasonal annuals in them. I don't have much grass nowadays (with plans for less) but I do have a lot of pots, tubs and troughs from strawberries and rhubarb, upright and bushing berberis, hydrangeas, hollies up to proper trees like alders, rowans and silver birches. I am trying to get away from constant gardening to basic maintenance but still have a proper looking garden.
Wednesday morning my eldest daughter and her partner went up to Stiperstones in Shropshire, to watch the Sunrise. It was a gamble with the weather, but these are just three images they took.
