Re: Citrojim's Pixo, Saxo and Cycling Tales
'Costing The Earth' on Radio 4 this week covered wet wipes in great detail. The term 'flushable wipes' only really refers to the fact that they'll go 'round the U-bend

Re: Citrojim's Pixo, Saxo and Cycling Tales
I'm still about
Nothing much to report really... This past week I've been rather ill with a touch of the usual... In fact the worst I've been in years... I was really hit hard...
Anyway, all better now and more or less back to normal...
You could tell I was really sick - I neither ran nor cycled for a whole seven days
By the end I was really going stir-crazy and suffering cabin fever... I started running and cycling again just as soon as I possibly could... I badly needed to feed my addiction...

Oh yes
Their wet weather performance and cornering abilities are impressive
Mind you for £140, they should be quite excellent and happily they are... The only problem is that in 350 miles I'll need to replace them and at the rate I pile on the miles that'll not be too long in the future...

You need to find a sports shop that does BO(pair)GOF promos.

Some do specials whereby you buy a pair of road running shoes and get a free pair of trail running shoes as part of the deal...
I don't trail run so they'd be a waste. I do, however, get a substantial discount for being a member of a running club
Those new shoes took me astray again this morning - over 7 miles astray
Still, all good training for this event on the 9th December

Re: Citrojim's Pixo, Saxo and Cycling Tales
Replaced my winter bike chain the other day...
It was well due... It had stretched half a link over 110 links
The new chain is at the top and the photo was taken before I shotgunned it to the required length...
I was very happy to acquire a GoPro video action camera the other day for a pittance...
Here it is now properly mounted on my bike...
I've already caught two classic cars with it on my travels and posted stills of them in on this very forum...
I have a bit of video of silly driving I may publish one day...

Goodness Jim, you've had your money's worth out of that chain!
I have a little off-brand GoPro type thing, I really need to go out for a run on the C5 with it attached sometime...

That could result in some interesting footage Zel, especially with those dimwits who wear earphones and spend their time wandering all over the path whilst texting or whatever infesting the place and being totally oblivious to all around them...
Just make sure your C5 doesn't try to mate with one of those autonomous delivery pods

I've also got one of the cheapie GoPro copies. I'm doing the Reading Toy Run on Sunday (motorcyclists, toys, Christmas etc. Google ..) and plan on using it for that .

Excellent! That's a wonderful thing to do Mike
Here's a quick video of me riding one of my favourite lanes - the one where the red BMW passed me on Sunday afternoon...
I've now more or less learned how to compress GoPro footage and post it to Youtube

I don't know if you've been here before Jim, but read about it in the local rag recently, claiming to be the best in the country.

No, it's a long way from our territory Mike!!! Heard of it and it does have a very good rep
Went to a good one this morning... Had a bit of a fry-up for breakfast
It was especially good as we'd just suffered a spate of punctures following riding over thorny hedge clippings scattered across the road by an over-zealous farmer
Here's me fixing mine on the side of the very busy A507
We had four more and it was a good job I carry two spare tubes and plenty of CO2
On Saturday I went to our bike club Christmas do... Excellent it was too.. Next day I ran the MK Half Marathon and well and truly PB'd it in 1 hour and 56 minutes
And this morning I was back running before my club bike ride... Just a little one of just under four miles...

Try this then Van... A video of me climbing one of my favourite steep hills yesterday
Caution: Contains heavy breathing
Just to give you an idea of the gradient, this is a still from the video near the top of the long steep bit...
I love hills
