Do you have some pictures of the car so we can help you check it's what you want?

I would recommend that you get hold of the VIN number (which will be on the Carte Gris), and plug that into service.citroen to see what it really is. My strong suspicion is that it is not an Activa.

I also have a suspicion that LHD and RHD bodyshells are different, I don't think the RHD shell has holes for the LHD A/C pipes or brake valve, and the wipers are mirrored.

I have requested the Vin, but to be honest I do not suspect that this is NOT an Activa....edit: FYI, the car was originally Swiss

French V6 not the same shell ?...Agggg...but they sound like minor problems (are they ?) and I am not planning to have Air|Con fitted. on the car.

But thius shell information worries me.

BL Autos still has the rusty one and the Green Goblin for offer... A good basis if you don't mind a bit of welding...

at which I am totally c6ap !, really bad with little practice.

I was thinking spares cars but I would then have all the space taken up.....been trying to work out how to use them as well as store/save them.

I reckon the Activa is savable with a bit of welding..

On that subject, practice normally makes perfect. I hope you're not like me; an exception to that general rule.. I can't MIG weld for toffee

I've tried and tried but I'm an order of magnitude worse than you... My MIG welding looks like a very sick pigeon has been at it...

I'm like it with all runny forms of jointing; glue, sealant, paint. You name it and I'll make a mess of it...

Exceptions are arc welding where the thickness of materials to be joined exceeds 3/8" thick, preferably 1/2", soft (electronics) soldering and brazing... I'm all passable at those, especially the middle one as that was (and remains) my first professional trade...

I've only tried TIG once and I was passable at that with a bit of practice and I can also just about make a passable job of oxy- acytelyne but sadly that's not good for welding modern automotive steel... MIG is the only real option really...

I have PM'ed BL Autos about the V6 and Activa........

Well my welding looks like a 5year old with a snotty nose sneezed on the join.....bits everywhere !

I am still leaning towards a French 2ltr then convert that to V6 & RHD.....I basically think it is the only way to get a good shell without
a lot of work, just a little worried about possible shell differences....and I can save the BL Auto one.

I am sure the LHD bodyshell is different, the A/C air intake is on the right, and I think the interior details behind the instruments are not the same as behind the glovebox (pedal box mounts).
You would also need to source a RHD Activa subframe and a RHD V6 steering rack, so more rare bits to source.

Would the sub-frame from the BL Autos one fit ? and would the V6's rack fit ?...if so

Never having seen either "in the flesh" can I ask few questions about the points you raise above...mainly due to my limited welding skills and the safety concerns/scrutineers, of rust in a shell I wish to be "silly" in

Would the Air Intake for the A/C be hard to make do you think ?
Could I just cut off the peddle box mounts from the V6 and re-welded ?
Behind the Facia, could these be cut from the V6 ? ...the whole of the front/interior will be stripped to a shell anyway.

sorry

Swapping subframes is a heck of a tricky job. Trying to turn a non - Activa into one would be an equally massive undertaking too.. best to work on a native Activa.

................none about mate. Sales history is also poor with very few appearing over the last 12 months.

Edit....having looked at various postings ect, why is the front sub-frame such a pig to do if the engine ect is all off the car ?...I know I would need to match production dates but looking at Citroen Service the job does not seem to bad. (I am sure |I am being naive  :) )

Well I am now the owner (trailer home soon) of a V6 and an Activa !....and one to come from France as well

Project Stictiva is ON

In either right hand drive or left, not yet determined (but I do not care much really) as I have to examine the shells and sub-frames....but from what I have seen so far the SubFrame is OK and the Shell...well that remains to be seen.
