One gone one in....now I have rid myself of the Orange Turd.....I needed to replace stocks.....so this arrived/returned today. About SEVEN years ago I found this car (about 15 miles away from me) as a "therapy car".....now it has done its job it has returned to its ancestral home for a bit of loving care to its body work to extend its life for many years to come....
Loads of polishing, a couple of tiny (strangely localised) patches to weld on a sill and it should be good for an MOT....
SAXO in daHouse !

She was a brilliant car for me Alasdair and was absolutely 100% reliable always. She never let me down once and did me some amazing therapy, painterly waiting whilst I had two lon spells of being unable to drive and then gently coaxing me back behind the wheel and growing my confidence to the extent I'm almost back to where I was, driving wise, 10 or 12 years ago
I'm so pleased to see her home and receiving the TLC she so richly deserves
After driving my Picasso around for a good while now I was pleasantly surprised at just how nicely Sally still drives... It was a very good trip down to yours yesterday

The orange tur@ has gone.....I can confirm the new owner is not a 3 fingered American banjo player nor are they visually impaired....which is strange.

A little Screen Rubber fix, The inner metal support has started to go so after have in n"look" I trimmed the rubber back. cut nice under-cut edges, cleaned and treated the metal.
The cleaned the rubber edges with Xylene and taped up the edges. I used a small plastic spatula to smooth on PU Screen adhesive and roughly smoothed it to the correct shape/height.I removed the masking when this was still WET.
I waited 15/20 mins for the PU adhesive to skin then with a thin rubber glove and again using the Xylene I used my finger to smooth the curved shape/get the edges clean.

A "New" one arrives on Saturday.......this one, a 2ltr TCT has not moved for 12 Years +... !......but has been started every month (not a clue why, not for me to ask)
I looks good in all the normal -rust- areas = BONUS
Engine runs well = BONUS
Down at the back end = NEGATIVE
I have not look at the underside = Neg/Poss, who knows
LHM tank totally empty = NEGATIVE
I decided not to fill the LHM tank at the present owners parking area as, if it leaks at the back (which I suspect it will, all I will achieve is covering their area with LHM and then the car transporters deck when it is shipped here on Saturday.

Looks quite promising and as Mikes says, a lovely project
If it's sound in all the right paces it'll be viable.
Looking forward to giving it a good look at in due course... I'll bring my ELIT

I have to clean it before I can go near it, even if I decided to scrap in instantly it cannot go there dirty

You may find several previously unknown species of moss growing on it Alasdair!Stickyfinger wrote: 02 Feb 2024, 09:41 I have to clean it before I can go near it, even if I decided to scrap in instantly it cannot go there dirty![]()
