Mini Electric is in 2021, one of the 2 electric car models currently being built at any sort of scale by the Automotive industry in the United Kingdom.
The only other possible contender is The LEVC Taxi, built in Coventry.
The LEVC taxi is a "range Extender Hybrid ie all electric drive with a range extender petrol engine which powers a generator. Website indicates "*Pure EV range of 62.5 miles, official EAER (Equivalent All Electric Range) figure, achieved under WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure) test conditions."
Taxis are exempt from the ULEZ charging, but the Plug-in-Grant for Taxis is supposedly only available to vehicles capable of (70 miles) without any emissions at all
Taxis
These vehicles are purpose-built taxis and have CO2 emissions of less than 50g/km and can travel at least 112km (70 miles) without any emissions at all:
Dynamo Taxi
LEVC TX
The grant will pay for 20% of the purchase price for these vehicles, up to a maximum of £7,500.
Wonder if they need a bigger battery!
