OK cheers David....thought so, it feels crap as well, very light. In fact it made me miss judge the weight of the original....geeze that's heavy when you have to bench press it on your back on a floor creeper :)

As the one on the car is 100% and the one on the V6 is also good, I think I am well covered. I just could not find pics of it anywhere.

Now....what can I do with a cat and pipe...maybe use it to make a new manifold extension pipe and get rid of that nasty restriction I found.

Those small cats don't work well on the V6...

My donor has one and it was a bit hard getting it through the MOT for a couple of years with it fitted so best binned...

I have an OE V6 cat for my conversion...

After yesterdays deep wash, today I tackled the interior and the paintwork.

Clay Bar, wash, machine applied 3\M scratch remover, detailers polish, buff with machine then finishing wax by hand.

All seats cleaned and washed/leather feed then polish cream. All plastic washed down (geeze it was dirty) then sealed with a general plastic "wax" and buffed...........took AGES so I hope the results are good.

Very unusual to see a non colour coded Activa or V6, let alone an Activa V6 :)

It does look good though :)

As it was a South of France car, It was blue with the classic flaky lacquer before this colour (Prev owner had photos) was applied....which I am told in a Renault colour, God knows what he was thinking using this colour and painting the rubbing strips ? Why could he not use a Citroen colour ??.......he said "I like this colour"...I stopped there as this thing had taken me a full 9 months to track down.

My thinking was that either way I would always be going for a re-spray. At least this way it will not look crap until I do and I was always more concerned for the body condition over any paint. Which as you can see is rather good and nothing like any car I have seen in the UK.

The "end plan" is to have it in the same colour as my C5 anyhow.

The Leather is also non standard BTW, it was cloth.

Sticky, I think it looks gorgeous and I like the fact it's different and unique... Nothing wrong with that at all..

I'm seriously considering having mine resprayed orange or deep yellow...

Not quite decided yet... More likely the deep buttercup yellow the Saxo was once available in... I adore that colour...

Thanks Jim.I worked hard on it....not the "best" paint job I have seen, a little touch of the Saville on it, what we used to call an "Arches Job".

Seems like a thin barrier coat and a top off with two-pack.
All in all they have managed to do a very good job with only a couple of areas of rubber with over spray (easy off with a dremel and a cone buffer stone).

The engine bay still in Blue (cant see much with a V6 in anyway) and I will do a temporary Matte-Black on that, strangely they left the under bonnet blue as well with the edges/slam area showing the original colour, again I will black this. All interior/door inner surfaces are done as I think that's when the leather was inserted, carpet had all been pulled at the edges so they is good coverage on the inside, again not bad.
The wheels flaked (as u see) as soon as the jet wash touched them, spray can job over a black coat....never mind the 2 Ltr Activa wheels are going to be refurbished for "best".

I would say this was a "intermediate" job. I will get it cut by a pro polisher at some stage to remove the orange peel.

Great work Sticky it's come up a treat. I'd invest in a selection of pads and polishes and do the orange peel yourself and, it may require wetsanding first.

I do not trust the evenness of the paint thickness to put my inexperienced hand on it with a machine and such a cutting agent...happy a pro does it for me in this instance.

Sticky, you'll be surprised at how light the ES9 engine is... Gearbox is shockingly heavy though!

Lift on all four eyes with chains making a pyramid point above the middle of the engine and the lift will be perfectly balanced...

I find the V6 the easiest of the Xantia engines to lift in and out because they balance so well on their lifting eyes...
