Hi Simon - thanks for that. However, mine is a 2007 2.2HDI 173hp using PATfluid (176). Any ideas on getting the system to reset itself? Would a BHI reset solve it or is that something completely different?

When you say that the garage has 'reset the code', do you mean they reset the fault code / message? You also need to tell the car that fluid has been replaced otherwise it will think the level is still low.

No a BHI reset wouldn't help. The early cars were a pain to reset the system , even on lexia (had to replace the ecu on mine in the end), but it should be a lot more straight forward on the later cars as the functionality was put into the main ECU. Are the garage following the reset process properly?

Yes, you may have come up against this.

The DW12BTED4 doesn't have a separate ECU ; it was one of the big updates (along with changing the inlet manifold from plastic to aluminium)

One should always use the guide that I put up above as the systems used are based on vehicle build date - not engine type.

But on some of the vehicles the ECU could be a bit of a sod to reset. Who is doing the reset for you and are they using a Lexia to do it?

No, they don't have a Lexia unfortunately - rare as hen's teeth in this part of Shropshire. They have an Autel. Is that up to the job or is it limited with Citroen diagnostics?

I would really try and eliminate that as the issue by getting somebody to try the reset with a Lexia to be honest - that way you can rule it out.

Hi Marc,
just read your reply - many thanks as ever.
Actually, total success after all - another garage with a 'Snap On' diag box sorted it all in 5 minutes.

Excellent! Not all diagnostic tools are the same - evidently!

Hi all,

I have a 2011 C5, 2.0 hdi, I phoned Citroen and they advised me to use kit 9736 A1, I refilled the tank myself after buying the kit. This was Eolys Powerflex fluid.

However, I have a green connector on my tank which would suggest that this is now not the correct fluid.

Any assistance?

Many Thanks

Build date takes priority over the click fit connector.
Either your VIN or R.P. Number from the tyre label will confirm what fluid you need.
I reckon though being a 2011 model it should be eolys EXTEND.

Ok thanks for your reply.

My VIN number is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I would very disappointed with Citroen if they had advised on the incorrect fluid. But having my doubts now.

Thanks

Your RP number is 12491 so as i suspected it should be Eolys EXTEND.
Part number 1623961580 for the 1 litre or part no 1623961680 for the 3 litre.
