Can you test the resistor as it may not be that that is faulty, there will also be a relay somewhere for the logic.

The dimdip should only work with the side lamps on and the engine running. engine off - side lamps only.

Check the resistor is not open circuit then see if there is a voltage applied to the terminals with the engine running and side lamps on.

Yes it is Dim Dip resistor. There is one fitted to all CX's Single and Bi Optic., the temp sensor is behind front bumper little to the left, cable goes down under the battery.

Fitted a new dim-dip resistor - all is fine! On sidelights, the main lights glow nicely as Citroen intended with the ignition on.

I've had 2 CX's with single optics and they didn't glow, must have been faulty dim dips on both.
Learn something new every day.

Shortly I will be putting up for sale 2 single optic lights in very good condition.
