V6 Clutch

My friend has a Laguna v6 24v- 98. Clutch needs replacing - any ideas how much the clutch is and how big a job it is?
I understand that the clutch is not very strong on these, how much extra would a uprated clutch be?

Got the clutch kit from local auto factors £114+vat - original Valeo clutch.
Local mechanic charged £100 to fit.
Car has done over 140k, on original clutch - so I take the comment about the clutch not being strong back.
