Is it worthwhile fitting a repair kit (if i can getit)to my 19's steering rack (power steering)? MOT fail because of a leak at nearside of rack.

Probably not, in my experience leaky racks don't stay fixed for long- if you can stop the leak at all.
I'd say a replacement rack is what you are after.
