I have 2024 C5 Aircross with motorised tailgate
Tailgate keeps coming down by accident and I attribute this to poorly design kick sensor
This is compounded by the tailgate not stopping if you get trapped
Quite dangerous
I notice this is a problem with Citroen C5
I can only see a setting to disable the whoooooooooooole motorisation making it very heavy to open/close
I heard some say they disabled just the kick sensor?
Is it possible to disable the kick sensor for the dangerous C5 tailgate problem??
Is it possible to disable the kick sensor for the dangerous C5 tailgate problem??

Just an untested suggestion. If you unplug the kick sensor and then measure the resistance of the sensor, you could then connect a substitute resistor across the plug, fooling the ecu into thinking the sensor was dormant and hence stop it activating?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Is there anything in the handbook ? I have been able to turn off the kick sensor on our Octavia following info in its handbook which it also says should be done before washing it.

What happens if you just cover the sensor with duct tape for example?

Just realised the first post is over a year old. ChrisKe has been on here a few weeks ago but might not be following this topic.
