I have an RT3 unit in my 2007 Peugeot 607. Last week when starting the car, the screen wouldn’t move from the “launch” screen, with the Peugeot logo on the front. It says “launching” then “ ready” in the bottom right hand corner but won’t move from that.
The radio comes on but obviously I can’t see what channel etc, strangely the functions work - like if I call the car, it’ll ring etc.
Then the screen will go blank, the radio will go off and then it repeats, like it’s constantly trying to reboot.
Any ideas what I can try / do?

This is one for our telematics experts but while you wait for one it may be worth trying a BSI reset according to the procedure in the link below. It can't do any harm and you never know!

Thanks for this, alas this didn’t work and it’s still stuck on the launch screen - with all functions working.

Our 2019 308 touch screen went faulty and only showed the Peugeot logo. The dealer diagnosed it, tried to install the software again but it needed a new radio to fix it. Sadly this cost about £1500 installed including the latest maps but they are not that much up to date.

If you know what version firmware is installed it's possible I have a link for it. You could then try reinstalling the firmware but, as you can see, that might not work anyway.

Worst case I've got the old RT3 from my 607 lying around. You'll have to change the language, but that's not too hard to do. I upgraded mine to an RT5, but there wasn't anything wrong with the RT3 besides a dicky (though functional) cd player.

Thanks for all the replies.
The other thing I noticed is that when the system goes through the reboot cycle, the odometer display switches from mph to kph and then back again.
Not sure if that’s an indication of anything other than it’s screwed!

I’d be interested in making you an offer for that, as long as I can find someone to swap them out - as I wouldn’t have a clue!SterkeYerke wrote: 18 May 2026, 02:58 Worst case I've got the old RT3 from my 607 lying around. From memory you only need a T20 screwdriver, a plastic pry tool (could be a guitar pick) and a Lexia, because you'll have to enter the VIN into the RT3. I'd be happy to install it for you, but I'm in the Netherlands.
