RT6 update as possible solution for firmware failure
Have faced the common issue with RT6 fimware failure: black screen and CD noise. I have read manuals with instructions that could help fix it. And I know that it could be sd-card failure. But I assume that I could try at least upgrade the firmware to 2.86 to avoid unit disassembling. I've got backup that I have created couple years ago to update maps but I have not updated maps then. So I guess it should be the same data for the current system. I have not found 2.86 firmware on the forum. Could someone share it? And give me an advice, please, whether I'm on the right way to solve the problem. Thanks in advance

Re: RT6 update as possible solution for firmware failure
I'll send you a PM in a moment with a link to 2.86 firmware. This is not a CD ISO but the actual 2.86 files which you must copy to a USB drive. Don't go too large, 8GB is plenty, and don't get a USB3 drive. You copy the files and subfolders inside the folder, not the folder itself.
Be aware this may not fix your problem if your RT6 is starting to suffer from hardware failure.
