Last week my wife had the 'stop driving' letter from Citroen stating that her 2014 C4 was due for the airbag change.
Our local Citroen agency was shut down for annual holidays & wife was due to depart for the UK next week so needed her car.
The garage was back in operation at 1330 hrs today so she promptly arrived on their doorstep prepared to beg them to fit new bag(s) before her ferry to the UK .
First in the queue at reception she explained her problem.
"No worries" said owners wife " let me just check 'the book' . Ah yes ,it's only the driver's one needs replacing & we have it in stock, we'll do it now"
Job done in literally 5 minutes with letter of confirmation to be messaged to wife in case she's stopped by Flics (cops).
How's about that for service ? :-D

If parts supply wasn’t the major limiting factor but dealer capacity was the issue (or when parts stopped being and dealer capacity became it) then they should have contracted companies like AA or RAC to go out and do mobile repairs -
Both the AA & RAC do have recall technicians that do manufacturers recalls for them but not sure if they have them doing these recalls for them.
In this case it should be the RAC as they have the breakdown contract with Citroen/Peugeot & DS.

Afternoon all,

Just thought i'd report on how i'm (not) getting on.

Citroen Coventry ignore my calls and central services pass you round the houses!

No idea where they think I can get a hire car for £22 a day from. Luckily I have access to other vehicles but this is appalling and I fear for those who have no other means of transport.

Not good

Watchdog did an item on this recently, and (in my view) Stellantis did not come out of it well,

Finally all done. Car collected yesterday morning. For the DS5 they said front driver and passenger replaced. Then straight to another garage and £500 to get lower arms track rod and cv boot replaced. Although I’m doubting they have done a good job on alignment as it now steers into all grooves and is very heavy.

I was in France last week, and they have reminders to check your car Takata airbags.... on the autoroute matrix signs.

This whole thing it's been very annoying, I received my letter the 12th of August and get the appointment for the 16th of September, I booked the recovery straight from the number they provided on the letter. A week before the appointment I received a call form Arnold Clark saying "Unfortunately, the part required to carry out this recall is on back order, with no delivery date available yet" so they moved my appointment to the 2nd of October. There's still no stock and it's not likely to be for that day. Now I have been told from stellantis that they don't supply any recovery, if I want it I have to pay for that. Really? Has anyone been more successful?

The newspaper in Rouen had an article about tyre fit/exhaust type places refusing to take C3s etc in unless the owner had the paper certificate that the recall had been done.

That’s not true. They do supply recovery. They picked mine up. I had to check part availability a week ahead and then call to book in. They did turn up very late in the day but lifted the car to repairer.

Re: Takata airbag recall.
I received my stop drive notice on the 15th of August and called the local Peugeot dealership the following day. I was really pleased when I received an appointment for the 19th of August.
My happiness was sadly dashed when I received a message to say the appointment was cancelled due to lack of part availability.

I rang Stellantis customer services and was told to call around different dealerships to check for availability which I did to no avail. So now I've called Stellantis and the local dealership 2 or 3 times a week up until the date of posting. I rang a dealership out of my area onlybto be told they had appointments available one was in Wigan in December and another in Bolton in January.

I've managed to book an earlier appointment for the 23rd of October but they can't guarantee that the part will be available at that time. Meanwhile I've got the cleanest car in the street and managed to change my ATF fluid.

From what I can gather off the Internet it appears as though its only Citroen that have issued a "Stop Drive" notice. To say I'm frustrated is an understatement

Same in here, it's a complete shambles, the helpline its everything but helpful, I sent emails a month ago and I'm still waiting for a response as well. I have an appointment for the 24th this month but been told there's no delivery date at the moment, it's been 2 months without the car and who know for how long more

I have had my air bags replaced on my drive a few weeks ago by FormelD I only waited 8 days.
Unfortunatly Citroen would not cover all my alternative transport costs only paying the standard £22 plus documented taxi fare which left me out of pocket by £375.
I took them to small claims court and they have contacted me a paid all the outstanding monies plus interest and court fees, yes its stressfull but dont give up. I did not give up and am now satisfied.
Any questions PM me please

My DS5, VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] should be eligible for recall, but my vehicle is in China and I cannot find the corresponding service provider. Could you please contact me officially and tell me how to handle this?
