CCC Chevrons: 30-31 August...

I was one of the “watchers”, never seen a C8 at a CCC meeting before. It looked very shiny & and nice to see some “modern” cars there, C4 Picassos etc.
The lad on the gate had probably never seen a C8 before.

It is good to see lots of the more modern Citroens appearing at shows now and seeing plenty of enthusiastic youngsters, especially those loving sinker Xantias and a 21 year old running a BX14 as his daily

The X7 drove better than mine tbf, but had a few bodge repairs and some mods that would need undoing and the cost/time involved in that I didn't fancy getting involved with right now (plus the seller wouldn't have come down enough to make it worth while) so no-go. A good thing tbh - I don't need any more projects, really!

Yes it is Iain, a very famous Visa too in club circles. It was once Mike Harker's - the long-time Citroenian Visa columnist and Visa guru. Mike knew more about them than Citroen did! That one is a 652cc twin-pot. Not the most popular or common Visa in the UK.

There was also a Visa GTi there on Sunday I've always fancied one of those. Basically a 1.6 Pug 205GTi in a different dress...

Some great photos there, every time I walked past the Xantia V6 and looked at it side on I couldn't help but play the Knight Rider theme tune in my head. It was great to see people of all ages enjoying the meet, I was slightly disappointed by the old boy sleeping in his mobility scooter not having Chevrons on it...if only I had some tippex with me and that 'new' Picasso surprised me as the centre of the steering wheel doesn't move but the wheel moves around it, very quirky.

I believe there's a number of models like that now Ryan. I think it's rather excellent

That one is a 652cc twin-pot. Not the most popular or common Visa in the UK.

Although not that popular on original registrations, there are a surprising number of survivors! 6 'Clubs' and 14 'Specials' which makes up 18% of the 112 that remain on the DVLA record. In 1995 they were about 2,000 out of 20,000 so only 10%, so they have out survived other models. They are hilariously under powered and under braked (servo? who needs one of those!?!), but fun to hustle along, and teach you about planning and conservation of momentum at all costs!

He he..... I have a solution for that! Now this is a rare Visa (although apparently there are 3 and all licensed):

Needs an owner to look after it long term, it's been through a few hands just recently. I am sorely tempted, but it is a facelift with the stalks not the bonkers PRN dash, and it's really got 2 too many cylinders....

So is it the case they are now really loved by those who love Visas? I can easily see that although I did see my true Visa love on Sunday

Unless it's a GTi then same applies to me. I just adore the PRN dash You know me, I'm very much a Series 1 sort of person
