The Citroen Car Club Chevrons Rally is happening this weekend (30-31 August) at Little Horwood (MK17 0PF).
I'll be there afternoons only in at least one of my AXs on both days. Maybe in Strawberry one day and Bluebell the other...
This is always a good gig and it's not obligatory to have a Citroen to attend.
It'll be great to see you there on what is the last CCC event of the year...

In that case Jim it's just as well we cancelled Redbourne this weekend when I realised I will be at Bicester Heritage Drivetribe Live!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I avoided the meet today as I was worried about weather but the MIL is coming down to tomorrow, so I'll be there on the 31st

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

I was there for part of yesterday and by and large the weather was fair; it came on to rain late in the afternoon.
The attendance was very low, possibly due to the predicted weather. And for me it was intolerable due to a second-rate live band cranking out dubious musical 'entertainment' at peak volume and making talking to fellow rally-goers a very difficult task.
I will be suggesting to the organising committee this was a bad error of judgement as most of us go there to meet up and talk and not listen to some second-rate singer croaking away into a microphone and PA system.
If the nonsense continues today I won't be staying long. Just long enough to see old friends and take a few more pictures.
Yesterday I rate as 3 out 10. Wouldn't recommend

I foolishly forgot about this, went to see another x7 yesterday (because I am not well in the head) and got back so late I’ve woken up too late today to make it with any worthy time left there

Re: CCC Chevrons: 30-31 August...
I went to the meet today. I've never seen an SM before but today I saw 3!! If only one of them had the keys in it..... I took the Mrs and left the kids at home. We had a wonderful time looking at everything from a BX and GSA to SMs, DSs and some crappy blue AX. Which by the way was parked in the OAP section near the toilets whilst us younger people were parked at the opposite end of the field. A good mixture of old and newer Citroens in various conditions from show cars to everyday drivers.

Re: CCC Chevrons: 30-31 August...
I was tempted to smash the passenger window to grab the cameras off the seat but then I realised the window was original because it had the reg etched on it!!! What did make me laugh was when we arrived we were greeted by a young lad. I asked where was the C8 section? He replied we don't have a C8. I said well you do now, where should I park?. He said anywhere you like. The amount of people watching me drive in was quite off putting but she got a few admirers. I would of liked to of seen the comments about having our front seats facing the other way.

You would probably just have ended up with a load of black and white film so nothing lost!!

Yeah, pictures of the first row of cars only, we were there for 2 hours before I sneaked up behind him next to Bluebell and said to the Mrs 'look at this crappy blue AX' Jim's face was a picture as were the people who he was talking to! Damn he needs to walk and talk!

Re: CCC Chevrons: 30-31 August...
I was one of the “watchers”, never seen a C8 at a CCC meeting before. It looked very shiny & and nice to see some “modern” cars there, C4 Picassos etc.
The lad on the gate had probably never seen a C8 before.

Re: CCC Chevrons: 30-31 August...
Sunday was definitely an improvement on Saturday. Seems attendance was down because of Rustival.
The attendance on Sunday was a lot lower than usual and I guess the dodgy weather forecast did not help. As it was, it only rained a few times...
Thank goodness that bloody live music was absent on Sunday. If it was there I'd have turned around and gone home.

I trust the X7 was good and worthy
Age has its privilege Ryan
It was great to see you and Mrs. Jester and pleased you enjoyed the rally

I had both my analogue and digital cameras with me and will publish an album of my colour pictures soon. I've not yet developed the black and white film...mickthemaverick wrote: 31 Aug 2025, 20:06 You would probably just have ended up with a load of black and white film so nothing lost!!![]()
