Hello, I am a recent owner of a 508 '20 and is has the NAC navigation, the smaller one with version 31.09.46.62_NAC-r0.
If my research is correct I believe I have NAC Wave 3. I want to know if I can upgrade directly to the latests version (NAC Wave 4) as I saw in this post viewtopic.php?t=81259 or do I have to upgrade to the latest version on Wave 3 and then to Wave 4. If someone can enlighten me I would be truly grateful.

Re: Upgrading NAC version
I do have the same Firmware Version on a Spacetourer 2019. I found some contradicting information about the system version. Some state it is a late WAVE2 and not a WAVE3.
I've tried several update attempts e.g. to the often proposed 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0 (don't be fooled by the lower version, it's actually a newer firmware than the 31.xx)
The official Update Software (and the Citroen mobile app) suggests an update to 42.xx, but nothing has worked for me....
IN another thread someone suggested that the upgrade will not work due to outdated certificates ... I'm stuck for now it seems.

Re: Upgrading NAC version
Generally speaking, the first digit in the software version is the Wave level (hardware revision) - there are some notable exceptions, such as the NAC Wave 1 (with the 6.x.x and 7.x.x versions) and the first versions of the NAC Wave 2 (5.xx.xx.xx). To be sure, just input your VIN on my page at https://sites.google.com/view/nac-rcc and it should identify your infotainment system hardware and point you to all available software for that system.
Currently, it is impossible to install any firmware for the NAC Wave 1 and any firmware or maps for the NAC Wave 3 - all those available files have expired signing certificates. This is something only PSA/Stellantis could fix, by issuing a new certificate and signing the updates with that certificate. This isn't related to the license file you also need to install any firmware.

Re: Upgrading NAC version
Ah now that makes sense! It's the certificates in the NEW firmware that is expired! I thought it has something to do with certificates in the installed firmware!
That is even a worse situation if PSA/Stellantis are not fixing this.
Thanks for clarifying!
Those Firmware Certs have a general lifetime of 3 years....that's a bit questionable given that we are talking about cars (which are supposed to run "a bit" longer)
