I have also included the specific vehicle licence for the firmware for this vehicle - which, although your vehicle has WiFi to authorise the firmware update, some people have had issues with connection to PSA in some countries, so you can use the licence file and extract it according to the folder (and correct naming of the folder) included in the instructions in the link below.

Firmware Version 44.07.33.32_NAC-r0

Tkchroc Licence File

Europe Map V17

Is it necessary to update firmware to install these maps?

Disconnecting the car battery resets the date (year 2007)
The update must be done with the BTA plug and GPS antenna removed from the NAC.

Will it work in Berlingo 2018/2019 and with assistance/sos button?

Can anyone confirm it?

@Tomas1: It isn't that easy. If you disconnect the BTA (which also has an internal clock), you need a valid license for that date (2007) - that's right, the license, just like the certificates, also has a valid date interval. And if you download one right now (from https://majestic-web.mpsa.com/mjf00-web ... seDownload...), it isn't valid for 2007. Both the license key file and the included signing certificate must be valid on the installation date.

No, you have a NAC Wave 2 hardware, you can't install a firmware for a NAC Wave 4 hardware revision.
But you can install the 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0 version, the latest for that system.

Thanks, I am trying to update this now with Waves 2 version 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0. I have created a license file from the Toyota website. These units are exactly the same as the Peugeot Citroen units.

I am getting "Version not compatible with hardware" error message at the not sure what is causing this as I have the correct firmware and licence file on the USB memory stick.

Hi all,

I also have the "version incompatible with hardware". The Citroen update program says "PSA_ovip-int-firmware-version_42-03-33-42_NAC-r0_NAC_EUR_WAVE3" is the most recent update I need. My car has now version 30-05-50-42_NAC-r0_NAC_EUR_WAVE3. My VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Please has anyone a suggestion?

Best regards,

You only need the license key file in the USB flash drive if you cannot connect your car to the internet. And you can connect the car to the internet using:
- With the internal BTA (Boîtier Télématique Autonome) / ATB (Autonomous Telematics Box) unit, if your car has it. On the PSA/Stellantis group vehicles, if it has the eCall system (SOS and Assistance buttons), it does have that device. On Toyota, I'm not sure;
- Connect your car to a WiFi AP (Access Point);
- Tether your phone (share mobile data through Bluetooth).

With any of those connections, the firmware installation procedure will automatically verify the license. If you can't connect the car to the internet, you'll need the license key file, which is specific to your car (uin serial number, a 20-digit hex number) and to the firmware version (MediaVersion/UpdateID, an 18-digit number) that you're trying to install. For the 21.08.90.52_NAC-r0 version, the UpdateID is 001315031666020829, so the license you download must have the "license_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx_001315031666020829.key" filename.

Best regards,
Both of you have a NAC Wave 3 infotainment system (firmware version 3x.xx.xx.xx), which is impossible to update at this moment (and in the last 6 months or so). This is not related to the license, but to the signing certificates (included in the firmware) that are expired/too old. Only PSA/Stellantis could fix this by issuing new certificates, signing their update with them (the private key), and releasing a new .tar file.

Hi, is it possible to get a licence and firmware file for my citroen c3 2017 please? I only recently got it, but there is a problem when the phone is connected by cable it keeps disconnecting so the nav functiondoesn'twork properly. I was advised it will need a software update.

My VIN is: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

System version: 072D
HMI version: 21.615.53.11.0
iMX version: x0101168_170308_16.1B104
V850 version: W2.1_16.1S704.3

Thanks

@sagor: Did you try the official "Citroën Update" software?
For macOS: https://d1tik0o5ahgjm.cloudfront.net/ci ... Update.dmg
For Windows: https://d1tik0o5ahgjm.cloudfront.net/ci ... 0.1.24.exe

This should download the firmware and respective license for your RCC Wave 2 system and prepare the USB flash drive.

Edited:
But you won't be able to install it. The latest firmware version for the RCC Wave 2, 1_076_16.1B116.4, is already 6 years old and has expired signing certificates:

Code: Select all

> openssl smime -in rcc_update\Bosch.cms -pk7out | openssl pkcs7 -print_certs -text | head
Certificate:
    Data:
        Version: 3 (0x2)
        Serial Number: 7 (0x7)
        Signature Algorithm: sha256WithRSAEncryption
        Issuer: C=FR, L=Paris, O=PSA Peugeot Citroen, OU=Certificate Authorities, OU=(c) PSA Peugeot Citroen - For authorized use only, OU=0002 319187308, CN=PSA - OVIP - Code signing - G1
        Validity
            Not Before: Apr 4 13:02:52 2019 GMT
            Not After : Apr 4 13:02:52 2022 GMT
Just like the NAC Wave 1 and Wave 3 systems, you'll need to wait for PSA/Stellantis to (unlikely) release a new firmware with valid certificates.

I haven't tried anything via the official channels as I'm out of warranty so didn't think it would work, but will try the windows version, thanks.
