If you want to know what your vehicle is fitted with have you'll need to provide your VIN. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

You can't mix technology. Halogen lamps require Halogen bulbs
Don't try fitting LED bulbs to halogen lamps (it's not road legal).

You don't have D5S Bulbs!

Headlamps (Main Beam and Dipped Beam) = Halogen: H7 12V-55W
Foglamps = Halogen: H11 12V-55W
Number Plate Lamp = Halogen: 12V-W5W
Front DRL = Complete LED Module Replacement Required. There are no bulbs for the variant fitted to your car - this also includes the indicator unit - again non replaceable bulbs - it's a complete module.
The wing Mirror indicator units are removable and replaceable

Thank you for the fast response!
Nearly all sites recommended different types of bulbs
had I not posted here it would have been guesswork!

I found these on ebay - this way plenty of spares as only x1 headlight has gone out

H7 Bulbs 477 499 12v 55W PX26d Car headlight Halogen Bulb New Boxed * 10 PACK *
They should be suitable?

My honest advice to you is DO NOT purchase cheap unbranded bulbs from ebay and Amazon - they are known to be sources for fake bulbs. Certainly anything in a 10 pack will be knock off rubbish!

I recommend you purchase your bulbs from a good known brand like Philips or OSRAM or Ring.

I purchase all mine from Powerbulbs as these are approved resellers of bulbs by the main manufacturers:

Here is a link with your vehicle selected (just ignore the bit for LED DRLs, as these are aftermarket kits and not for your vehicle. But all the other bulbs should be as I've mentioned - then just select the Dipped Beam and it will provide a list of options - BUT, make sure you tick the HALOGEN on the left hand side where the filters are to eliminate all the irrelevant ones, and when you are looking through the brands and options, make sure you look at the last line of the description to make sure they state 'Road Legal'. Thsi is because they show all types for off-road use as well as on on-road use.

There are plenty of brands and options to suite different budgets. Remember that most of these will state (TWIN), so have 2 bulbs in a pack. It is also recommended to always replace bulbs in pairs.

Hi Marc,

I’m in need of new headlamps/dip beam bulbs. Would you be able to point me in the right direction? Do I need Halogen, LED or as some posts talk about Can Bus bulbs?

Model:
CITROEN C4 PICASSO /Grand Picasso(B78) 2.0 BlueHDi | DW10FD (AHR) | 1997 | 110kW

My vin is:

VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Many thanks!

The car handbook usually lists the bulbs so if not already done, have a look in it.

Thanks Paul! I did just that and it looks like I need xenon D5S-25W directional dipped beam headlamps. They cost a fortune!

I changed a D1S bulb on a friend's Volvo recently. It was a Sunday (of course) and I had been expecting it to be an H7 halogen. It wasn't too bad at £40.99.

BTW, what an extraordinary clever system the Volvo has to change the bulb. You pull two plastic rods out and then the lamp easily pulls out. Why can't they all be like that?
