Peugeot 3008 1.6 Bluehdi - Cam Belt Replacement Timing Marks

Cam Belt Replacement Timing Marks

Had cam belt strip teeth and damage cam. Setting Crank & Cam was easy enough however the Fuel Pump appears to have two holes where timing can be locked - does it matter what one it is locked in.

Can you post a pic? Earlier ones had a sort of slot.

Photo of type of pump can be found here... https://1drv.ms/i/s!AkEpK5yWs5t2jRL1ljB ... p?e=eGeTz4 this is just a photo of type of pump that is on car as too dark out there at moment, as you can see it has two slots where timing pin could be put into hole on block - what way or either way???

Here's a vid of a belt change on this engine, with a clear view of the pump in position. Can't see any obvious identifying marks on the pump timing flange.

It probably doesn't matter too much, the pump is not timed per-se, but there might be vibration / belt loading issues if it is out of synch with cam pulses - have seen info that the 2 litre engines can wreck the belts if the pumps are not timed properly.

Don't forget that the crank timing position is with the small pin in the top of the crank sensor wheel NOT with the pin in the flywheel - this is at a different position for pulley bolt remove / replace only.

Thanks for that, have previously seen that video but as you can see in it there two locking tabs on that pump as well so I am thinking as long as it is locked in place using one of these tabs it wont really matter which.
That problem has now been kicked slightly further down the road as when I went to start to undo cylinder head bolts the first one no problem - the next two snaped the torx heads off....never even attemted any more today, decieded that can wait to tomorrow - weather permitting and decied how I am going to get them off. Whether that is try to weld bolt on or if I just grind rest of the torx head off....the joys another restless night.

Often you get away without taking the head off, assume it has dropped a valve? You've disturbed it now anyway! I've seen a vid where head bolts snapped, they just drilled the heads off, then removed the remains once the cylinder head was off.

Yeah its got three slightly bent valves so affraid it is head off. Was thinking of either drilling or using dremel with a burr bit to take heads off bolts - then hopefully they will come out fine once cylinder head is out of the road.

Unlucky... Here's the vid - 8 snapped!

In that case pretty sure it would have been OK without removing the head.

UPDATE - Engine has been stripped and rebuilt. Car is alive and engine running well, I wont say it is driving well as there is terrible whining noise when driving but this has nothing to do with engine and more to do with the RAC dragging it onto their trailer using driveshafts...now having to get new ones even although the ones they have damaged are only three months old.

I would be submitting a claim to the RAC for those damaged drive shafts as the RAC driver should in now way have attached anything to the driveshafts
