Key fob stopped working

Unread post by careca »

Hi, i had my key fob for the C5 II stopped working, i thought it would be the battery and didn't even measure the voltage and just replaced it, now this one has the expected 3.1v and the fob still doesn't work.
I read around and it seems that there is a procedure to pair the remote again and so i have done it, rotate key to ON, press and hold locking button for 5 secs, doors should lock and the remote should be paired.
The doors never lock, nothing happens at all. Maybe the remote has died, haven't yet connected the lexia, but i will. Is it recommended to re-program the remote through lexia?
Is the procedure i described to pair, just wrong? Do these remotes often die just like this?
Thank you.

Turns out that the battery has crap, a new high quality one has solved the issue.
No pairing needed either, it just started working again with the new battery and no procedure.
