Unread post by Arif51 »

Hi everyone . Sorry I am new to this forum. A week ago purchased a Peugeot 3008 exclusive 2009 model. Navigation and display was working fine . Sometimes radio was keep turning itself on . And now display started playing. It reboots itself along with radio . Display turns on . Peugeot emblem comes on . Language resets back to french . Time and date resets.Shows radio stations but when i press nav or mode button , it won’t show navigation display. At the bottom of the screen shows no satelites .and then navigation and head unit resets itself after a minute . It won’t let me enter date or time because it freezes the screen before it resets . Everything in km and can’t go back to MPH . Frustrated.please if anyone can help i would appreciate it . Thank you

Let me have your VIN so I can see which model of telematics you have. I suspect it will be a MyWay / WipNav. Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff.

Ok, as I suspected you have the MyWay / WipNav system.

These have internal flash memory storage built onto the motherboard and when they start to fail this is the sort of problems you will get. There is nothing really you can do apart from sourcing a replacement at this stage as when the flash memory can no longer be written to the system will keep rebooting - and these reboot intervals will likely get shorter and shorter.

Citroen /Peugeot did have an agreement in place with Clarion to repair these - but again not cheap. Whether they still do I can't advise.

Apart from an expensive repair or replacement, you may still be able to get a used second hand one that will need configuring and coding to your vehicle with the correct options for your vehicle (try to get a donor unit that was from a Peugeot vehicle as these have retractable screens on some vehicles where Citroen do not).

An identical reconditioned unit from Peugeot will be £1383! A replacement unit (different version) is £1011. There may be some features missing - I can't say as unusual for a new unit to be less than a reconditioned one.....

Your dealer will be able to advise but they do have different parts, so may be a cut down unit.

Yes, the SD card on the front is only used for the mapping data, The flash memory for the operating system is built onto the motherboard, hence why a repair usually involves a new motherboard on these specific units.

As I said, you may be able to get a second hand one - read my post for considerations about this ^

Lastly, no, you do not need to replace the screen - it is the Head unit that is affecting the data output to the screen.
