I hope someone can help me with an engine breakdown on my Relay van. It has done over 100K miles (out of warranty period) has been fully serviced and is only three years old. However, an engine warning light followed by "clunking and rattling" noises from the engine necessitated a tow home by the breakdown services. One cylinder showing no compression and re-build suggested.
I have contacted a few engine repair people and they say these engines suffer a known set of faults that Peugeot/Citroen will not recognise/admit since it will cost them dearly.
Are these engines suspect to failures and how do we proceed?
Any advise or information appreciated.

Hi Paul,
not got that far yet. It just sounded very rattly and the only test we have had is that it shows no compression on one cylinder and the garage says it needs a rebuild.

Hi. Can you tell me the outcome of this as I’m experiencing the exact same problem now.
Cheers
