Got an issue with my 2018 Relay.
A few months ago I got in the van to nip ot somewhere, as i turned the key my washer spray started going off and it stayed on even when removing the key from the van. It stopped after a minute but nothing would stop it. I turned the key again and everything was fine and I have used it fine since, I thought it was just a gremlin in the system somewhere.
Last week I had been to work in the van and had pulled in to collect a parcel. As i got back in the van, as soon as i turned the key in the ignition i heard the screen wash going again, and a loud clicking from the internal fusebox. I took the key out and it all stopped, however when turning the key again my headlights were on low and flickering, with the clicking sound still happening.
A friend I called recommended disconnecting the battery for a few mins and reconnecting to try and clear it. I did this and as soon as I reconnected the battery, with no key in the ignition, the clicking could be heard. Dash lights up, with warning lights and errors, no lights or indicators work, and nothing when i turned the key to start the van.
The AA were called out but they were next to useless, he disconnected my washer pump as he burnt it out while trying to diagnose the issue, checked the relays in the engine bay, and in the internal fuse box, and said I had blown my BSM. He thought it was the battery, but I had a brand new battery in the back of the van which I was goign to swap over. Both batteries were tested by the AA and were deemed fine.
After some googling and speaking to a friend, it sounded like the BSM was indeed faulty. I have since sent it off for re-coding to my van. After connecting the "new" BSM up the clicking has stopped but still geting the lit up dash, no manual controls working, and nothing at all when I try to start the van, not even a click.
I have an auto electrican booked in for 25th Nov, but was wondering if anyone on here had any ideas.
