C5 hydrastatic suspension leak

Unread post by stickery74 »

Hello all.
My 2007 plate C5 has failed it's MOT on a leaky offside rear suspension unit. I am struggling to find one online. Can anyone suggest a good supplier and also give me an idea how I can make sure I'm getting the correct part for my vehicle. TIA

If you donate £10 to the forum and then post your VIN, admin will check Citroen's parts diagrams (they have to pay for this) and give you the correct part number for you to search on. The £10 lasts for up to 3 calendar years and covers all your future requests so is excellent value.

I'm assuming, as your car is a 2.2, it has Hydroactive 3+ and is fitted with 40mm Dia rams on the rear. If this is the case the part number you need will be 5272 71.

The big issue you'll have is availability and you may need to look for a good used one.
It is possible to reseal them but even these are hard to come by now. However, it is possible to use a generic o-ring for the outer seal but you'll need to strip it to measure the dia of the ring. It'll be 40mm ID with a seal dia of around 3mm but you need to check.
