Eolys refilled but can’t add date

Unread post by northrol »

Hello! I had my Eolys fluid refilled and I managed to get the car to understand this, thus the warning on the dash for ”Low level” and ”Service”-indicator are gone - but I can not for my life add the Date and KM for when it was done - it only says Faulty Operation … my question is Does this matter? Will the car still take the Eolys when I refill the tank and thus use the DPF Regen or is this ”date thing” a must?

Kindest regards
Martin

Where are you getting that from? You should just reset the additive counter to zero. There’s no date field for this.

A screenshot would help showing the section you are in.

The error code P15B3 is still there (intermittent) and when I press delete I get the text shown in the image (in Swedish though) it says something like Before you delete this code you need to fill in an after market form. There are 2 used of 50 possible.

When I press OK I have to fill in the KM and after that the date and when I press OK again it says that it failed deleting the code.

Ok so this isn't Diagbox, so cant comment on that diagnostic tool, but it sounds to me like it’s the internal log of the BSI that would normally record a technician entry to record when the operation was done. You should be able to put anything in there so long as it’s in the right format.

That doesn’t work. I guess I’ll have to take it with the producer …
Thank you so much !

But do you think the car will use the Eolys fluid anyway or is this stopping it ?

Ok, so your diagnostic tool may not be able to reset the counter. This is not uncommon with aftermarket tools. If they are not updated regularly to keep pace with the vehicle's systems, they may not be compatible. Even then, there can still be issues if not using Diagbox.

If the Additive Counter cannot be reset, then the engine ECU does not know that you have refilled the reservoir or replaced the pouch (depending on the system you have), as there is no physical measuring device for the fluid level. This means you will likely to still get the warning messages. As for whether it continues dosing the fuel tank with additive, I can't really say, but I suspect it may continue to try and dose the tank, (leading to dry-running of the additive pump) if it is left too long.

Well that's a tricky one, on my 2006 it's guess work, the system guesses how much you have left and tells you to fill it. I filled mine and it still says fill it as I haven't told the system it's been refilled. The car still works perfectly well and functions as normal even after a year. I'm not sure if that would be the same on a 13plate.

Yes, the key thing is that there is fluid in the reservoir, so that you cover against the dry-running issue, but the warnings will remain - and more so on later vehicles.

I had another option saying something like Reservoar filled in the Maintenance option and when I pressed that the warning and Service light went out and haven’t come back yet, it also says that there is like 2,8 liters estimated value or such, I can’t remember exactly now but I can look it up.

Thank you for all advices and help!
