Retrofitting cruise control on Citroën C1 1.2 Puretech 2014

Unread post by Nego2403 »

Hello

I was looking to buy a Citroën C1 from 2014 with the 1.2 Puretech petrol engine. I have seen other models with the same engine but without cruise control. Do someone know if it is possible to retrofit the cruise control handle like it can be done on the second generation C3 models without cruise control?

Best regards

Bear in mind that these are Toyota Aygos, so have different electronic systems and components than 'pure' Citroen vehicles.

I'm not saying it isn't possible, but the electronic modules are different to normal.

The cruise control was only fitted to some versions of the EB2 & 1KR engines, so unlikely to work with other engine versions.

Never heard of it being done on a mk2 C1.
I suppose first thing would be to go in with diagbox to see if it can be enabled anywhere?

When I buy the car I will check. Will a cruise control module appear or is it part of some of the other modules like the ECU?

The Cruise control stalk, where fitted, is on the right hand side of the steering column, probably under the screen wash stalk.

I've never looked into it on this model but CC is normally managed by & incorporated into the engine ECU.

I think from his last post he's just trying to identify a model with / without cruise visually when he's looking to buy a vehicle from the presence of the stalk which is on the left.

It looks like it's the standard cruise control stalk that's been fitted to every single Toyota since time began...usually located at 4 0'clock behind the steering wheel

Dunno if you'd need Diagbox or Toyota Techstream to configure the car for it

I was asking because the model without the handle is 600£ lower in price compared to the one with the cruise control. As I have diagbox it wouldn't cost me more than the price of the handle to upgrade but I'm asking here because I was not sure if this was possible to do. Do you know if the newer versions of the C1 have electronic throttle pedals or is it the old ones with the cable to the throttle body?

It’s not just fitting the stalk, but the engine ECU has to support it, so buying a model with an unsupported engine and engine ECU may be an issue.

This makes sense. I'll see if I can connect diagbox and check it.

Hi Nego, I bought the stick from ali and retro fitted it in my Peugeot 108 but it doesn't work (I'm happy with only speed limiter). Did you find the option in diagbox? and do you know if I can make this with Toyota Techstream software?

You'll have to ask Toyota about that, as the Op has a Puretech engine and not a Toyota engine. As said, some vehicles don't support it.

Hi hrdmxmn! Was the speed limiter just plug-and-play for you? Did you connect the CC stock, and did it work? I am also interested in CC, but having the speed limiter would be amazing in itself.

Hi Martinero, it didn't work.. and I couldn't find the option to activate it on Techstream so I'm trying to find someone who made it work with DiagBox maybe... but as it is it doesn't work.
